In the world today, guys are taking a major role when it comes to relationships. The view that mens role is grooming themselves to be the head of the family no longer takes centre stage. Relationships can either be casual, friendly or intimate. The friendly type, involves no commitment just acquaintances with close friends. Casual relations entails acknowledgement of ones desires for the other but does not necessary involve any sense of obligation. The duration may last a day to years depending on the understanding between both parties. Affairs that are intimate are committal in nature and the parties are bound by love. It can either be long or short term depending on the compatibility of those involved.

Guys in relationships tend to want freedom to do what they like at their own time. Any kind of restriction to this, often leads to conflicts or broken relations. Manly, is the right word to use to describe what they want. It makes them happy to be the man, feel strong and confident. They like to be in control and this should not be mistaken for jealousy. On the contrary its more of affection than suspicion.

Views on dating tend to be the same in most cases though not all. Guys tend to be territorial by wanting to have knowledge of all that is happening around them. In short, being in charge is their pride and joy. The happiness of a partner is their main concern and everything they do is centred on this. They like a relationship kept alive even after a couple of months. Their key is to feel loved and appreciated.

Male anxiety is a term used to describe the anxiousness and self-consciousness of a guy. Mostly, it is performance related, involving sexuality. A guy may not be fully satisfied with his sex life with their partner. This creates anxiety resulting in low self esteem which makes him pull away from the affair. The presence of anxiety in most cases is a sign that there are issues that need resolving. Lack of this may result in further problems for the couple in terms of their relationship. Discussion of feelings and emotions is often not done by men unless they are fully committed and open in a relationship. Assurance that their partner will stick with them in good and bad times confirms the love she has and the relationship is sure to last.
